Eric Trump says former KKK leader David Duke deserves ‘a bullet’

Eric Trump, son of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, believes former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, who is currently running for Senate in Louisiana and is a big Trump supporter, deserves “a bullet.”

After 630 KHOW Denver radio host Ross Kaminsky asked Eric Trump how he feels about many in the media attempting to tie Duke, who he said “desperately needs a bullet in the head,” to his father’s campaign, the younger Trump sounded off on what he really thinks about the white nationalist figure.

“Ross, it’s disgusting and by the way, if I said exactly what you said, I’d get killed for it, but I think I’ll say it anyway,” he said. “The guy does deserve a bullet. I mean, these aren’t good people. These are horrible people. In fact, I commend my father. My father’s the first Republican who’s gone out and said, ‘Listen, what’s happened to the African-American community is horrible and I’m going to take care of it.’”

In response to the comment, Duke told CNN, “That’s a good one, I’m in the middle of project right now.” He told the network he wanted to call them back later because he has to “think about” how he wants to respond.

Throughout the campaign, Donald Trump has received support from many white nationalists. Duke has repeatedly reiterated his fondness for the Republican standard-bearer. Donald Trump initially caused quite a stir for suggesting during the GOP primaries that he knew nothing about Duke or his KKK background, though he later disavowed the Louisiana candidate’s support.

Eric Trump said Thursday that attempts to lump Duke, who he called “disgusting,” in with his father is just a distraction.

“This is the M.O. of the DNC and in fact, we go back to the Podesta emails from May/June — there’s an email where he’s saying listen, ‘We think Trump has an amazing movement going and we want to make him, the only way we think we can best stop is to make him look like a bigot, racist, xenophobic, this and that,’” he told Kaminsky.

Eric Trump added that he is “disgusted” with the entire political process.
